Ongoing Projects: Berlin Corona Covid19 Lockdown

  • April 05, 2020 - Berlin, Germany: Pedestrians walk on the abandoned Kantstrasse Budapester Strasse crossing in the heart of West Berlin. This crossing was one of the busiest crossings in town before the shutdown.The coronavirus pandemic has hit Germany hard, with more than 100,000 people infected, but the percentage of fatal cases has been remarkably low compared to many neighboring countries. The German Council of Economic Advisers In a special report two weeks ago already  warned that a recession in Europe's powerhouse is inevitable. In a worst case scenario, output will shrink by 5.4%. the Experts predicted.

On top of the high riser in the background artists had mounted a sign that reads: Allesandersplatz. (A play of words which reads:  everything different place).   • May 16, 2020 - Berlin, Germany:  A man wears a protective mask that reads: Anti Merkel Maske (Anti Merkel mask) and holds a placard that reads: Die die am wenigsten wissen gehorchen am besten (Those who least know obey best) as people gather in front of the Reichstag to protest against lockdown measures and other government policies relating to the novel coronavirus crisis short before police startet to clear the space of demonstrators. Thousands of protesters from a wide spectrum of political creeds, from far left to far right, from the simply disgruntled to conspiracy enthusiasts, are gathering in cities nationwide to protest against government policies and measures many decry as disproportionate and undemocratic. Germany has been easing lockdown measures over recent weeks in an ongoing process.
  • June 02, 2020 - Berlin, Germany: Demontors hold placards as they take part in building a human chain in front of the Chancellery during a protest against the German government's rescue plans for the car industry amid the novel coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic. - German ministers meet to thrash out an economic stimulus package to speed recovery from the coronavirus shutdown, with the vital auto industry and possible subsidies for it a key sticking point. One of the package's controversial points is a bonus for car purchases.
  • June 08, 2020 - Berlin, Germany: Members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra rehearse to record Arthur BlissQuintet for oboe and string quartet for online use.   • Beds stand ready for patients at the intensive care unit at  Jaffestrasse Corona Treatment Center. The Jaffestrasse Corona Treatment Center at the Berlin Messe exhibition space. The center is a temporary hospital built in Hall 26 of the Berlin Messe trade fair grounds for treating Covid-19 cases should the capacity of local hospitals be exceeded. So far the city of Berlin's hospitals have not been overwhelmed with Covid-19 cases and use of the temporary hospital, with its 488 bed capacity, has not been necessary yet.Germany recorded the highest number of new coronavirus cases in more than three months, with daily infections stay above 1,400 cases in the last two days.
